Sunday's protest came a day after one of the largest demonstrations yet in Sanford, the central Florida town where Martin was killed.

If you've only been skating for 2 days, I would suggest you work on your ollies more. You need to be able to ollie consistently well in order to do anything else, especially a kickflip. So to do better kickflips, make sure you can do ollies perfectly.
After that, try your kickflips with a totally new approach. Don't continue to do what you are doing because you'll get in the habit of doing poor kickflips and it will be hard to improve on them. Try different foot placements, different flick directions, etc, to find a way that works for you. The only way to "learn" to skateboard is practice and trial and error.
