When can I move Roses/climbing Rose & Oriental Lilies as I have?
New Shrubs & plants being delivered within the next 28 days.& want to plant them in the vacant ground. Will I need to put compost on dug up ground. Much obliged.
Move these plants whilst they're dormant, to minimise the stress that they'll suffer as a result. You could still manage this now, though roses are starting to shoot, so it's getting to the end of the dormant period - as they're shallow rooters, minimise the root disturbance that they get.
Both the Oriental Lilies and Roses will benefit from incorporation of well rotted garden compost, or animal manure, into the planting area. I'd add some bonemeal too, which is a good organic slow release fertiliser. The Lilies are probably not sprouted in the ground yet, making them fairly safe to move - if they've started to root, there will be some disturbance, so judge this accordingly.
