I've made a few omissions, such as Slumdog Millionaire, American Beauty, and Forrest Gump - for while these are critically acclaimed, well-loved and quite well-made films, I just can't stand them. Similarly, a few epics that many fans despise, like Titanic and Gladiator, are on there simply because I really like them.
I'm going to edit this because I realize it didn't make sense - while I personally didn't care for those films, it might be that you find them worthwhile. The other omissions are ones that I don't find to be must-sees in comparisons with the rest of the list; ergo, the top-priority viewings.
