More Great Information on Kashmiri Rug:

Carpets are an instrument to add character to a room by Real Estate Expert

When you think of carpets, you think of beautiful, intricate pieces of art that not only add luxury and sophistication to your floors, but complete the living space that they are placed in! Carpets add a lot of warmth and character to the space.
Size is important. Any particular rug always looks better in a bigger size rather than smaller. It is okay if the rug goes under the front legs of the bed or of the living-room sofa.
The designer rugs available today have enough colours to complement any furniture or fabric. But, you may like to use a particular background or border colour to highlight or complement the colour scheme you may have in mind for the desired space.
This is a very personal choice. You can easily mix and match various carpet designs available today. You can have a rich looking classical carpet in your living room and a beautiful contemporary and abstract carpet in your bedroom.
Typically, when we in India think of carpets, it invokes a sense of royalty and old world glamour. It was an exquisite craft that the Mughals brought with them to India. Today, India is one of the biggest manufacturers of fine hand-knotted carpets which can take anywhere between three months to a year to weave.
Over the years, the patrons of carpets have primarily been royal families, wealthy industrialists, art collectors and bureaucrats. In today’s time, there’s a new class of consumers emerging. In major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, people are treating homes as an important extension of themselves.
Homes have become important spaces for entertaining friends and family. As a result, a lot of younger homeowners and business executives are also open to the idea of using carpets in their home. This is for the simple reason that when you add a rug to a living room or a bedroom setting, it sort of envelops the whole space together and creates a sense of warmth and harmony.
When consumers think of carpets, they mostly think of woollen carpets or Kashmiri silk carpets. However, there are a lot of different textures that have emerged within these categories as well as some new ones.
There are two kinds of woolen textures †handspun and hightwist. Handspun wool has a softer feel and a more uniform look to it. High-twist wool, on the other hand, is coarser but is extremely rich in its texture.
With silk as well, there is the kind of silk that we have seen in Kashmiri carpets over the years, which is machine spun and has a symmetrical kind of look. There is also a handspun silk texture, which gives the carpet a very antique and muted kind of look.
Till five or ten years back, you would mostly see traditional Persian designs being made in handknotted carpets. But now, just like art movements, carpet designs are continuously evolving and reaching out to newer audiences. With tastes and trends evolving, consumers are a lot more receptive to contemporary rugs in various textures. Today, we see a very wide range of urban contemporary designs, modern abstract designs, and even geometrics. Even traditional designs are being made in more contemporary colours! This fusion allows a homeowner to have a rich looking carpet even in a minimalist living room to create that ambience of luxury.
In terms of colour trends, there are some classic colours which are all time favorites like reds, ivory, and gold, blue, black while others depend on prevailing global trends.

i have a small kashmiri rug, what is the best way to clean it? can i dryclean it or is there anyother way?

You can spot clean using a commercial rug cleaner and a damp cloth but for a thorough cleaning dry-clean is recommended for that type of rug. good luck.
