Here are Todays Amazing Black Round Deals!
What causes those black marks around the carpet and skirting boards? Two possible answers to this first is fluff where the vacuum not picking it up or
So what the cause? Air. It moves around your home between the gaps in walls and floors trying to find a way out. This is what is happing if you have black marks around the edge of your carpets.
The right way to fit skirting boards is with a small gap between it and the floor this is so when the carpet fitter comes along he fits his gripper that holds the carpet in place on the floor leaving a small gap and then the carpet tucks down into the gap between the gripper and the skirting board.
The problem is when you get air flow under the floor this air wants to find its way out anyway it can and if the floor is not fitted tight it blow up where ever it can, normally around the edge leaving a dirty black mark.
Or after taking up the carpet run a product like gapfill round the baseboard. Tape the joints on the underlay making sure there are no holes in the underlay as you will get marks on the carpet above if you miss these. Put carpet back down and clean.
Using cedar paper and flexible tape work well. When you get the carpet cleaned it will need to be cleaned with the right product, so use a cleaner that know his stuff.
You see, cleaning is not so easy after all it has a science just like everything else and by using this science is make a really hard job, and these black marks will be if not removed the right way, easy.
One last thing if you do clean the black marks. Be careful as the carpet gripper has little Sharpe needles that hold the carpet in place and when you clean these can catch your fingers if they are near the top of the carpet. Normal these are not a problem as they at the edges of the carpet.
