Having an ancient origin and boasting a tradition of craftsmanship that has forged great works and great artists is inevitable that the world of oriental rugs is rich in curiosity and curious events that have marked the history and the social issue about carpets. Work of gigantic proportions which saw its completion in 2000, with regard to the technical side is completed in the assembly of 48 pieces by Iranian expert weavers, and May 5, 2001 with the inauguration of the mosque by the Sultan. The work is still admired in the Grand Mosque in Muscat.
